Believed to be the largest specimen in France

Q. engelmannii is a blue-leaved Californian native not often planted in Europe. Young plants are struggling on the plateau, losing their leaves and suffering some dieback each year. Another much further down the slope has fared better. Although attacked by anthracnose in its youth, it is starting to form a real tree by 2022.
