May be a useful source of drought-tolerant trees using in vitro propagation.

An “oak on steroids” labelled as Q. graciliformis, from seed collected by Guy Sternberg. However, as Trees of North America gives the height of this species as 8 metres, and this specimen had reached 12.5 metres in ten years, and appears to have more pronounced lobes than the type, a little hybrid vigour might be suspected. It is cold-proof, drought-proof and hurricane-proof.
